Neighborhood web headerHighland Park Action Committee, a 15-year-old neighborhood group, had no distinctive identity. They needed both a logo and a header for their new website. I thought a row of simple, colorful faces would convey neighborliness for this small diverse community.
Different type styles on the logo – a round slab serif and a condensed sans with baseline changes – contrast the friendly, unpretentious character of the neighborhood with the purposeful planning of the Action Committee, which lobbies the city government and networks with other local orgs for safety and beautification projects.
TIP: The illustration? For that I purchased several charming sets of faces from vectorstock.com, and altered them to suit my piece. It’s a LOT faster than drawing each one from scratch.
