I’m an artist and costume designer in Seattle, Washington.
After my first “Intro to Bellydance” class in the early 90s, I was hooked, like many of my friends and readers.
My 20-year Performance Slideshow
The Costume Goddess, my Altar Ego, is a being of infinite wisdom and patience. A friend invented this name for me – I enjoyed designing my costumes and solving costume problems for others. I adopted the title when I began a costuming advice column,”Ask the Costume Goddess” on Shira’s popular website for dancers.
My mail revealed the costume concerns of bellydancers all over the world. I contributed a chapter to “The Bellydance Book” by Backbeat Press, then decided to write my own series. Thus I learned page layout, digital photography and illustration.
I have readers in about 20 nations. Each of the seven titles has been updated at least once.
I’m also a graphic designer (see Digital Genie info at left). I do creative videography and even songwriting.
